The aim of the study is to examine the sustainability in tourism in the programs of governments that have been set up since the establishment of the Republic of Turkey and the party programs of political parties currently being represented in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. The tourism sector has been one of the indispensable sectors for the governments especially after the 1980s for reasons such as providing employment, contributing positively to country's promotion and providing foreign currency inflow, which is very important for developing countries. Likewise, political parties provide tips about what policy they will follow about the sectors when they come to power through party programs. Therefore, both government programs as well as political party programs were considered important sources of data for our study and studied. After the term sustainable tourism or words evoking the term (the diversification of tourism, nature tourism, cultural tourism, eco-tourism, village tourism, alternative tourism, etc.) were determined, it was checked in the government and political party programs whether these terms have been included or not.
