IJBEMP supports transparency, verifiability, and the reliability of results in scholarly research. Accordingly, authors are encouraged to make the data and materials underpinning their findings accessible to the extent permitted by ethical and legal conditions.
Disclosure of the Research
Authors should state clearly and comprehensibly how the data used in the research was obtained, processed, and analysed. The methods section is expected to contain sufficient detail for another researcher to reproduce the study.
Sharing Data
Where appropriate, research data may be shared in trusted academic data repositories, institutional archives, or as supplementary files with the article. The scope of sharing may include raw data, analysis files, survey instruments, scales, and analysis outputs. Data is recommended to be deposited in a repository that assigns a persistent identifier (DOI).
Limits to Sharing
Data sharing may be restricted due to participant confidentiality, personal data protection, ethics committee decisions, legal regulations, copyright, or intellectual property rights. In such cases, authors are expected to state clearly in their article why the data cannot be shared publicly. Restricted data is processed only in accordance with ethics committee approval and applicable legislation. A reasonable embargo period may be specified for data to be made accessible after the publication date.
Data Availability Statement
Authors are expected to provide a Data Availability Statement in their article, clearly indicating the accessibility status of the research data. The statement includes whichever of the following applies: the data is available in a publicly accessible repository, provided as a supplementary file with the article, available from the corresponding author upon request, cannot be shared for legal or ethical reasons, or no new data was generated in the study.
Editor’s Request for Data
Editors may, where deemed necessary for scholarly evaluation and verification, request the research data, analysis files, or other materials supporting the research findings from the authors. Failure to meet such a request may lead to suspension of the evaluation process or to an investigation under “Publication Misconduct Statement”.
