Abstract
EXPO’lar uluslararası düzeyde uzun yıllardır düzenlenmektedir. Ancak Türkiye’de son zamanlarda gündem oluşturmuştur. EXPO’lar bir ülkenin tanıtımı için çok önemli fırsatları barındırmaktadır. Buna ek olarak bu organizasyonlar ülkelerin ekonomik, sosyal ve kültürel anlamda gelişimine katkıda bulunmaktadır. Teorik olarak ele alınan bu çalışmanın amacı, ilgili literatüre katkı yapmak ve gelecekte yapılacak EXPO etkinlikleri için organizasyon yetkililerine önerilerde bulunmaktır. Literatür incelemesi sonucu EXPO’larla ilgili akademik anlamda çok kısıtlı bilgi olduğu görülmüştür. EXPO’ların ev sahibi ülkelere olan faydaları göz önünde bulundurulduğunda, bu çalışmanın, literatürdeki bilgilere katkıda bulunması ve başarılı bir organizasyon için ev sahibi ülke yetkililerine farklı bakış açıları sunması açısından önemli olduğu düşünülmektedir. Sonuç olarak, literatürden de elde edilen bilgiler ışığında; EXPO öncesi kentin güçlü ve zayıf yönlerinin (SWOT) analizinin yapılması, kurumlar arası iletişim ağı kurulması, kent halkının destek için bilinçlendirilmesi ve hizmet kalitesinin artırılması için ilgililere eğitimler verilmesi başarılı bir organizasyon için en önemli etkenler olarak değerlendirilmektedir.

Abstract
EXPOs has been organized at international level for many years. However, recently it formed the agenda in Turkey. EXPOs are very important opportunities for the promotion of a country. In addition, these organizations contribute to the economic, social and cultural development of countries. The aim of this research, which is considered as theoretically, is to contribute to the related literature and advice to the organization officials for future EXPO activities. As a result of the literature review, it is seen that there is very limited academic knowledge about EXPOs. Considering the benefits of the EXPOs to host countries, this study is considered to be important for contributing to the information in the literature and for presenting different perspectives to host country officials for a successful organization. As a result, according to the information obtained from the literature; Before the EXPO, analyzing the strengths and weaknesses (SWOT) of the city, establishing an inter-institutional communication network, raising the awareness of the people for support and providing training to the related persons to increase the service quality, are considered as the most important factors for a successful organization.
