Abstract

Finansal okuryazarlık, bireyleri finansal konularda doğru karar almaya yönlendirmektedir ve gelirlerini, yatırımlarını ve bütçelerini doğru yönetebilme yetkinliğini de kazandırmaktadır. Dolayısıyla bireylerin aldığı doğru kararlar, ilk olarak kendini olumlu yönde etkileyecektir. Sonrasında ülke ekonomisine ve tümüyle dünya ekonomisine olumlu yansıyacaktır. Bu amaçla bu çalışmada finansal okuryazarlık bilgi düzeyi Gaziosmanpaşa Üniversitesi İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi İşletme Bölümü öğrencileri üzerine bir anket çalışmasıyla ölçülmek istenmiştir. Anket toplamda 324 öğrenciye uygulanarak 315 kişiden geri dönüş alınmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programı vasıtasıyla T– testi, ANOVA testi ve Ki – Kare testi yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak finansal bilgi düzeyi kadın öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre yüksek olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Finansal bilgi kullanımında ise; erkek öğrencilerin daha başarılı olduğu gözlemlenmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin temel düzeyde finansal okuryazar olduğu söylenebilir.

Abstract

Financial literacy directs individuals to make right decisions in financial matters and provides them with the ability to manage their income, investments and budget. Therefore, the right decisions individuals make will first affect themselves positively. Then it will be reflected positively in the country’s economy and the economy of the whole world. For this reason, the aim of the present study was to measure financial literacy level among students in Business Administration Department of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Gaziosmanpaşa University through a questionnaire. A total of 315 students out of 324 returned the questionnaire form. The obtained data were subjected to TTest, ANOVA test and Chi- Square test by SPSS program. It was observed that the level of financial knowledge was higher in female students than in male students. For the use of financial information, male students were more successful. In addition, it could be concluded that students had only basic level of financial literacy.
