Abstract
Ortadoğu tarih boyunca statik bir siyasal yapıya sahip olmakta hep güçlük çekmiş bir bölgedir. Coğrafyanın bu karmaşık ve problemli yapısı, bölgenin kavşak noktasında olan Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin de bölgeye dönük dış politikasını oluşturmasında ve uygulamasında çeşitli sıkıntılara sebebiyet vermektedir. Ortadoğu, coğrafi yakınlık, tarihi, sosyal ve kültürel bağlar ve enerji kaynakları gibi konulardan ötürü Türk dış politikasının önemli konularından birisi olma özelliğini her dönemde korumuştur.Dolayısıyla Orta Doğu’da meydana gelen kriz ve gelişmelerin Türk dış politikası üzerine, dönemlere farklılık arz etmekle beraber, doğrudan veya dolaylı birçok etkisi olduğu bir muhakkaktır. Bu etkinin gücü, yoğunluğu ve yönünün tarihi bir perspektif ile doğru anlaşılması, mevcut politikaların değerlendirilip gereğinde yeni politikaların geliştirilmesi için son derece önemlidir. Dış politikanın dinamik yapısı düşünüldüğünde, çeşitli sorunların merkezinde olan bir coğrafya olan Orta Doğu’nun doğru analiz edilmesi, geleceğe yönelik doğru ve isabetli politikalar üretilmesi için, son derece önemlidir. Bu çalışmada Orta Doğu kavramı üzerinde durularak Türkiye’nin bölgeye dönük politikaları belirli bir periyotta incelenmiş ve Türkiye’nin bu politikaları izlerken etkili olan faktörler anlaşılmaya çalışılmıştır. Türkiye’nin bölgedeki milli çıkarlarını ve jeopolitik avantajını sürdürebilmesi ve ortauzun vadede Ortadoğu’daki gelişme ve krizleri kendi lehine çevirebilmesi için bölge dinamiklerinin ve kendi potansiyelinin çok iyi farkında olması gerekliliği vurgulanmıştır.

Abstract
Middle East is a region that throughout the history has been facing difficulties in terms of a stable political structure. This complicated and problematic structure of Middle East leads to some drawbacks for Turkey as a country located on the conflux of the region in establishing and applying its foreign policy towards this terrain. Due to its certain features such as geographical proximity, historical, social and cultural links, and the energy resources there, Middle East has always preserved its importance in every epoch, as one of the essential issues of Turkish foreign policy. Therefore the crisis and the developments took place in Middle East certainly have direct or indirect effects, differentiating upon the period, on Turkish foreign policy. Since it is with profound importance to be accurately grasped, with a historical perspective, for the potent, intensity and the course of these effects in order to assess the existing policies and to develop new strategies if necessary. When the dynamic structure of the foreign policy took into account, it becomes crucial to analyse this region properly that sits on the center of several problems. In this study, by underlining the term Middle East, the policies of Turkey regarding the region have been investigated in a certain period of time and the effective factors for those policies have been sized up. The necessity has been harped on that in order to remain its national interests and geopolitical advantage, and to turn the crisis and developments in Middle East into benefits, Turkey should realize the regional drivings and its potential.
